Apple’s 220 Million iPhone Production Plan in 2022 is Unchanged

Apple is sticking to its big target to produce 220 million iPhones this year, the company’s plan seems unchanged despite supply chain constraints and high demand.

According to a recent report from Bloomberg, Apple told its suppliers that it still wants to make up to 220 million iPhone units this year, which is less than what market experts are expecting.

As the brand new iPhone 14 lineup will debut sometime around September this year, analysts expect a production target of closer to 240 million iPhone models, according to the report.

Apple’s plan of producing overall around 220 million iPhone units was set in 2021 in spite of struggling with the ongoing supply chain constraints and restrictions due to lockdowns in China.

Apple is currently highly expected to announce the new iPhone 14 series with an updated design, better cameras, and a performance boost with the A16 Bionic chip.
