Today, Apple TV revealed the first look of the new highly anticipated limited drama series – “Black Bird,” which is inspired by a true crime memoir.
“When high school football hero, decorated policeman’s son, and convicted drug dealer Jimmy Keene is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum-security prison, he is given the choice of a lifetime — enter a maximum-security prison for the criminally insane and befriend suspected serial killer Larry Hall (Paul Walter Hauser), or stay where he is and serve his full sentence with no possibility of parole,” Apple describes.
This dramatic and captivating story subverts the crime genre by enlisting the help of the very people put behind bars to solve its mysteries.
A suspenseful six-episode psychological thriller “Black Bird” drama series stars Taron Egerton, Paul Walter Hauser, Sepideh Moafi, Greg Kinnear, and Ray Liotta and is produced for Apple TV+ by Apple Studios.
The movie series is developed by Dennis Lehane and the first three episodes are directed by Jim McKay and Joe Chappelle alongside Michaël R. Roskam who also serves as executive producer.
Taron Egerton, Dennis Lehane, Roskam, Richard Plepler, Bradley Thomas, Dan Friedkin, Ryan Friedkin, Alexandra Milchan, Scott Lambert, Kary Antholis, James Keene are also serve as executive producers.
“Black Bird” is set to premiere on Apple’s video streaming platform with the first two episodes on Friday, July 8, 2022, one new episode will release every Friday. You can know more about the new series in the company’s official press release.
