Apple TV Announced New “Dark Matter” Sci-fi Series

Today, Apple TV officially announced the new “Dark Matter” science fiction series, which is based on the blockbuster book by Blake Crouch.

“Dark Matter” is a story about the road not taken. The series will follow Jason Dessen, a physicist, professor, and family man who — one night while walking home on the streets of Chicago — is abducted into an alternate version of his life, Apple describes.

Wonder quickly turns to nightmare when he tries to return to his reality amid the multiverse of lives he could have lived. In this labyrinth of mind-bending realities, he embarks on a harrowing journey to get back to his true family and save them from the most terrifying, unbeatable foe imaginable: himself.

The new film will be produced by Matt Tolmach Productions and Sony Pictures Television, where Matt Tolmach and David Manpearl are producers. The series is written and executive produced by Crouch who also serves as showrunner.

From all nine-episode series, the first four episodes will be directed by Louis Leterrier, and “Joel Edgerton” is the focused star cast. However, the global premiere date of the new “Dark Matter” sci-fi series is currently not shared by the company.

You can read more about the new movie on Apple TV+’s official press release.
