On Tuesday, August 9, Apple TV officially announced to order the new “Land of women” comedy-drama series, starring actress Eva Longoria.
“A New York empty nester whose life is turned upside down when her husband implicates the family in financial improprieties, and she is forced to flee the city alongside her aging mother and college-age daughter,” Apple describes.
The women seek to start anew and hope their identities will remain unknown, but gossip in the small town quickly spreads, unraveling their deepest family secrets and truths.
“Land of women” will star in the leading role as Gala while the legendary film and television star Carmen Maura joins the star cast as Gala’s mother Julia.
The series will be created and written by Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira, directed by Carlos Sedes, produced by Bambu Studios, and executive produced by Ramón Campos, Teresa Fernández-Valdés, Ben Spector, and Longoria.
The ground-breaking show is currently under production in Spain and will be filmed in both English and Spanish and made available to watch in each language.
However, the exact global premiere date of the eight-episode “Land of women” dramedy is currently unconfirmed.
