Apple’s streaming platform is now globally premiering the new drama series — Shantaram, which is based on the bestselling novel by Gregory David Roberts.
“Alone in an unfamiliar city, Lin struggles to avoid the trouble he’s running from in this new place. After falling for an enigmatic and intriguing woman named Karla, Lin must choose between freedom or love and the complications that come with it,” Apple describes.
Escaped convict Lin Ford fless to the teeming streets of 1980s Bombay, looking to disappear. Working as a medic for the city's poor and neglected, Lin finds unexpected love, connection, and courage on the long road to redemption.
The new “Shantaram” drama series stars Shubham Saraf, Sujaya Dasgupta, Shiv Palekar, Rachel Kamath, Elektra Kilbey, Luke Pasqualino, Antonia Desplat, Alyy Khan, Fayssal Bazzi, Vincent Perez, David Field, Alexander Siddig, Gabrielle Scharnitzky, Elham Ehsas, and Matthew Joseph.
The highly-anticipated series is written by Steve Lightfoot and directed by Bharat Nalluri who both also serve as executive producer alongside Andrea Barron, Nicole Clemens, Steve Golin, Justin Kurzel, and Eric Warren Singer.
The all-new “Shantaram” film is now available to watch on Apple’s streaming platform in the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K, Xbox, PlayStation, and eligible smart TVs.
