Apple’s First Retail Store in India Delayed Due to Pandemic

The upcoming new and primary project of the first retail store of Apple in Mumbai, India has unfortunately been delayed as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that the company will be opening its first offline retail store in 2021. But currently, the plan seems to be changed for upcoming weeks or months.

Apple has a wide network of authorized resellers across India that helps the company to reach buyers and satisfied them with the product made by world-class hardware and world-class software.

After announcing the financial results of the fourth quarter of 2020, in January this year, Apple CEO Tim Cook said Apple had surpassed more than a million devices in India for the first time, according to the report of Indian Express.

In January 2021, Tim Cook told an analyst that “Apple doubled its business in the country last quarter compared to a year ago and the entire level of business is still quite low than the size of the opportunity.”

In 2020, most of Apple’s authorized retail stores were closed, so, Apple had finally launched its official online store to fulfilling the demands of Apple products for Indian customers. And in Apple’s financial reports of fiscal Q1 2021, Tim Cook said the reaction of the online store was incredibly well.

In the recent financial results of fiscal Q3 2021, Apple generated record revenue of $81.4 billion $21.74 billion of profit that was up 36% than the last year, which has the primary contribution of grown-up markets such as India and Vietnam.

Apple’s affordable iPhone SE and most-liked iPhone 11 could be one of the major reasons behind the unexpected growth of the company in India. And primary suppliers Foxconn, Wistron, Pegatron have still manufactured selected Indian variant iPhone models, including iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and iPhone 12.

According to the recent report of CyberMedia, Apple has reported 140% of growth in June by shipped 60% more units of iPhone 11.
