iPhone 13 Pro – Most Pro in Every Perspective

On Tuesday, September 14, at the California streaming event, Apple announced its most Pro iPhones ever with iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Alongside these higher-end Pro models, Apple also unveiled the baseline iPhone lineup with the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini with a new cameras design, thinner notch, stunning camera capabilities, and much more.

So, let’s take a closer look at this year’s most ever Pro iPhones.

Identical Design

iPhone 13 Pro features Apple’s most Pro design with exceptional materials, including surgical-grade stainless steel side frames. Each side passes from a physical vapor deposition process to create an Apple-custom finish that is so elegant and incredibly resistant to abrasion and corrosion.

The new Pro iPhone comes in four striking finishes with rich colors, Graphite, Gold, Silver, and all-new Sierra Blue that requires an entirely new process using multiple layers of nanometer-scale metallic ceramics applied across the surface to provide a stunning and very durable finish.

iPhone 13 Pro has a newly designed front with a TrueDepth camera system that’s 20% smaller. Apple’s incredible new rear camera system with beautiful stainless steel trim perfectly surrounds the sapphire crystal lenses of three new cameras. The beautiful textured matte glass feels great to shows off stunning colors.

The front has great protection from Ceramic Shield that is tougher than any smartphone glass and features an IP68 dust and water-resistant rating. Inside has been completely redesigned to support Apple’s latest Pro technologies, including an incredible new display and larger battery. It also supports MagSafe with new accessories and it’s joined by a larger iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Super Performance Boost

The new powerful new A15 Bionic features a CPU 2 new high-performance cores, 4 new high-efficiency cores, and a faster Neural Engine as well as a new ISP (Image Signal Processor), which provides improved noise reduction and tone mapping.

For these Pro models, A15 Bionic includes Apple’s most powerful graphics ever with a new 5-core GPU that delivers the fastest graphics performance up to 50% of any flagship smartphone ever. It is great for high-performance gaming and Apple’s most powerful camera features like Apple ProRAW and Dolby Vision HDR video recording capabilities.

iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max includes the record capabilities and more bands for 5G to expand the support of the latest network technology even further with the latest faster downloads and uploads speeds.

New Era of Incredible Display

The new fastest smartphone processor and custom display engine combine with an amazing new display that takes the iPhone user experience even further, features an entirely new Super Retina XDR display with a new and more efficient OLED panel.

The new display now supports up to 1000 nits peak outdoor brightness that is 25% higher than last year’s iPhone 12 Pro models. And for the first time, there’s now “ProMotion” display technology that can refresh from as low as 10Hz and all the way up to 120Hz. ProMotion is designed to respond dynamically and match your content.

The advanced and custom architecture produces fast frame rates while requiring and preserves battery life when don’t need. Apple also optimized iOS to take full advantage of the incredible new display like while swiping between apps or scrolling, the system adapts the frame rates to precisely match the speed of the user’s finger and the result is an incredibly responsive experience that is fast and fluid.

Apple said the ProMotion is also great for apps by providing more responsive inputs, smoother graphics, and more precise gameplay. The new Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion comes in two great sizes, 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch for iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, respectively. And the custom-designed OLED panels work across different lighting conditions and content types maintaining color accuracy and contrast.

Biggest Camera Advancement

iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max introduce an all-new camera system that Apple’s biggest camera advancement ever. A new 77-millimeter telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, a new ultra-wide camera with autofocus and a larger f/1.8 aperture with a 92% improvement in low light, and a new wide-angle camera has a larger f/1.5 aperture and 1.9-micron pixels for Apple’s largest sensor ever.

It has up to 2.2-times improvement in low light to get beautiful pictures in any situation. The larger wide sensor offers more light-gathering for less noise and faster shutter speeds, and even longer brackets when shooting night mode photos with a tripod. The new telephoto enables beautiful classic portraiture photos and 3x optical zoom for photos and videos for a total 6x optical zoom range on iPhone 13 Pro.

The new ultra-wide captures brighter and sharper low-light photos with more details. It also introduces new “Macro Photography” that typically uses a special lens that can focus at close distances. The new ultra-wide and auto-focus enable incredibly sharp focus and can magnify subjects with a minimum distance of 2 centimeters to get detailed close-ups.

For the first, all of the cameras, including telephoto, have a night mode which is made possible by advanced computational photography. The software in ISP adjusts for different lighting and improves skin tones.

The new “Photographic Styles” features bring individual preferences right into Apple’s advanced image pipeline in real-time as render the photos instead of just applying local edits like a photo editor. It gets all the benefits of Apple’s multi-frame image processing pipeline with the ability to customize it in a way that couldn’t be possible with a simple filter.

Each style in the Camera app uses a deep semantic understanding to intelligently apply the right amount of adjustments to the different parts of a photo while preserving skin tones. Users can also customize the styles further with tone and warmth which combine multiple attributes for a look that’s all own. Styles works across scenes and subject types that you don’t need to set every time.

Most Advanced Pro Video

The all-new camera system along with Dolby Vision HDR video recording produces incredible Pro-level videos. The major updates across the wide, ultra-wide, and Telephotos cameras make the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max much better devices for filmmaking.

The new ultra-wide camera enables amazing macro slo-mo videos and the new 3x telephoto allows to zoom even closer to the action and offers a great new focal length for a video to precisely using all-new Cinematic mode and using machine learning, users can change depth effect and focus even after the capture.

Another new Pro video feature called “ProRes video” delivers exceptionally high color fidelity and more efficient encoding for use in pro video editing apps like Final Cut Pro. ProRes is widely used by video editors as the final delivery format for commercials, feature films, and broadcasts.

Combined with Apple’s advanced video encoders and decoders as well as the faster file system and flash storage pipeline, users can be able to record ProRes videos in 4K 30 frames per second right in the camera app. According to Apple, iPhone 13 Pro is the only smartphone to provide an end-to-end pro workflow, allowing record and edit in ProRes or Dolby Vision.

Enhanced Battery Life

iPhone 13 Pro delivers incredible all-day battery life with lasts more than 1.5 hours longer in a day than last year’s iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max has the longest battery life ever in an iPhone with 2.5 hours longer than iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Environment in Mind

Not just a Pro, the entire iPhone 13 series has been designed with the environment in mind with redesigning the packaging to eliminate the outer plastic wrap saving 600 metric tons of plastic that brings closer to Apple’s goal to completely removing plastic from all packaging. These new iPhone models use 100% real earth elements in magnets and tin in the solder of the main logic board.

Pricing and Availability

Both new higher-model introduces the new 1TB storage option that joins 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage configurations.

As the previous year’s Pro iPhones, the iPhone 13 Pro still starts at $999, and iPhone 13 Pro Max is available at $1099 for the starting 128GB storage option.

Customers can pre-order the all-new models iPhone 13 lineup from tomorrow, September 17 and it will be available on Friday, 24 September.
