Apple’s latest generation of smartphones – iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, has now started manufacturing in the Indian subcontinent after trial production.
On Monday, April 11, Apple India confirmed to Gadgets 360 that it had started the latest non-Pro iPhone 13 production in India at the company’s major manufacturing partner Foxconn’s plant in Chennai after months of trial production has begun last year.
The newest iPhones join the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12, which are currently manufactured in India and as a result of price cuts, Apple becomes the fastest growing smartphone brands in India last year “with a 108 percent year-on-year growth in shipments and a 44 percent share of the premium segment.”
According to the publication, the Cupertino company has also contracted Foxconn and Wistron to also begin the iPhone 13 production in India in their production plants in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, respectively.
However, there is currently no word about how much price cut Indian consumers will see on “Made in India” non-Pro iPhone 13 models. Moreover, the first two Apple Stores in India are also on the way as the company has already started hiring.
