“Tap to Pay on iPhone” Now Accessible at Apple Park Visitor Center

It is now surprising comes out that Apple’s newly-showcased “Tap to Pay on iPhone” feature is already available to access at Apple Park Visitor Center.

Today, a Twitter user posted a quick video showing that a retail store employee at Apple Park Visitor Centre in Cupertino, California received a contactless payment from a customer using Apple Pay on iPhone without any additional hardware.

The incredible new iPhone payment technology was originally introduced in February 2022 with an aim to encourage businesses to accept contactless payments, which are currently limited to the United States.

At that time, Stripe was the only payment platform to start providing “Tap to Pay on iPhone” functionality to their business customers but later, Apple added Shopify Point of Sale, while more will include later this year.

Every payment that has been made using the newest contactless payment is encrypted so even Apple doesn’t know what is being purchased and who is a buyer.

Apple will also allow customers to use “Tap to Pay on iPhone” with contactless debit and credit cards from leading payment networks, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

When it comes to compatibility, the payment technology will be compatible with supported apps on iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max and later.
