In the latest August 13 security bulletin, Zoom mentions that version 5.7.3 and version 5.11.3 in macOS contain an issue in the auto-update method.
A local low-privileged user could exploit this vulnerability to escalate their privileges to root.
A serious security issue now fixed the latest update which is now available to download. The company also recommends all of its users keep running its software on the latest version by regularly pushing updates.
On Friday, August 12, Mac security researcher Patrick Wardle discovered the vulnerability at the hacking conference DEF CON in Las Vegas.
