WhatsApp Testing New End-to-End Encryption Indicators for Chats and Calls

On Monday, December 20, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp started testing new indicators/reminders for the end-to-end encryption for chats and calls.

According to the WhatsApp features expert WABetaInfo, the company is currently seriously working on the implementation of the two new indicators for its always-on end-to-end encryption on its personalized chats, calls, and group chats.

And by rolling out these new visual indicators, WhatsApp ultimately wants to remind you that its social network is still the secure messaging platform to get a personalized experience while interacting with your friends and families.

As per the screenshot shared by the publication, it mentions “Your personal calls are end-to-end encrypted” on a call screen and a status section shows “Your status is end-to-end encrypted.”

The company enabled the new secure technology back in 2016 for its around a billion users that are designed to remain a conversation only limited between a sender and recipient so that no one even WhatsApp can’t be able to see your conversation.

The new visual indicators for calls and chats are under development and it seems to be first rolling for WhatsApp for iOS while soon to be implemented on WhatsApp for android as well.
