On Thursday, November 11, the Meta-owned social networking platform announced new Voice Effects and Text to Speech features for Reels creators.

Attention Reels creators! We know that using sound and audio are one of the funnest aspects of creating a 🔥 Reel! So today we're launching two new audio tools called Voice Effects and Text to Speech. Swipe through to learn more about how to use them to take your Reels to the next level.
Text to Speech

Basically, the new Text to Speech feature for Instagram Reels helps creators to make their Reels more creative and interesting in terms of listening by adding artificial voice effects of a male and female to read anything on display.

How to Use:

  • Open the Instagram app and go to the Reels camera.
  • Record a video or upload it from the gallery.
  • Add text to a video using the Text tool.
  • Tap the text bubble to access the three-dot menu on the sticker, and select “Text-to-Speech.”
  • You will have two voice options to select from, Voice 1 (female) or Voice 2 (male).

The company describe this feature,

This feature lives within our text tool in the Reels camera, and allows an auto generated voice to read your text aloud. Text to speech helps you add narration without using your own voice, get creative, and add fun and humor to your Reels.
Voice Effects

Instagram also launched the new Voice Effects and by using it, creators can customize their recorded or uploaded audio by applying a voice effect from Helium, Giant, Vocalist, Announcer, and Robot. You can also add voiceover by going to the “Add Voiceover” option in a Music tool.

How to Use:

  • Open the Instagram app and go to the Reels camera.
  • Record a Reel (with adding audio).
  • Tap the Music tool.
  • Tap the three-dot menu below the ‘Camera Audio’ section and select “Add Effects.”
  • Now, select whatever voice effect you want to add, then tap “Done.”

The company says,

Voice Effects is a tool that allows you to modify the audio and/or voice over on a reel.
