LinkedIn to Remove Stories From its Professional Networking Platform
The most popular employment-oriented online service and professional networking platform “LinkedIn” yesterday announced to remove Stories from its platform.
On 6th October, LinkedIn implemented Stories on its online professional employment platform inspired by the most popular social media platforms, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Snapchat.
Liz Li, a senior director of products at LinkedIn, announced in the official blog post that LinkedIn Stories was designed to deliver quick video updates in a fun and casual way.
The company indicated that due to a low engagement, LinkedIn now finally decided to take a further step to remove stories to work on a new experience to engaging users with videos.
LinkedIn Stories will only remain until the end of this month before getting removed permanently from the social network.
Moreover, LinkedIn is not the first and only social media platform to remove the stories feature this year, last month, on July 14, Twitter also officially announced to permanently remove the stories-like “Fleets” feature from its micro-blogging social media network due to low engagement.
