The world’s most-liked micro-blogging social network is now reportedly working on the development of the new longer texts feature called “Twitter Articles.”
According to the app researcher Jane Manchun Wong who revealed a new feature by sharing a screenshot in a tweet and said “Twitter is working on ‘Twitter Articles’ and the ability to create one within Twitter, Possibility a new long-form format on Twitter.”
The screenshot shows a hidden menu in the left navigation bar specifically for the new long-form Articles features. However, more details about the new texts will work in a longer format on the platform.
And as per the evidence shared by the researcher, users will have the option to “Create a Twitter Article,” which clearly indicates that it will not be restricted to certain categories of accounts.
The new “Twitter Articles” is also confirmed by Twitter Spokesperson to CNET that it’s “always looking into new ways to help people start and engage in conversations” and more details will be shared soon.
When Twitter was launched in 2006, it was limited to allowing up to 140 characters in a tweet, while the limit was changed in 2017 with up to 280 characters. In 2020, the company introduced the new “Continous Threads,” a new way to post tweets where users can attach a number of tweets in the same conversation. Although, the words limit was remaining for threads.
However, the new “Twitter Articles” feature on the micro-blogging is expected to allow to write without being interrupted by the character limit.
