Twitter Expands “Downvote” Functionality Testing to More Users on Web

After months of testing, the most popular micro-blogging platform is now expanding the new dislike-similar “Downvote” feature on Twitter for web users.

On Thursday, 3rd February, the company has officially announced the global expansion of the “Downvote” functionality for tweet replies in a tweet.

We learned a lot about the types of replies you don't find relevant and we're expanding this test — more of you on web and soon iOS and Android will have the option to use reply downvoting.

Downvote aren't public, but they'll help inform us of the content people want to see.

The new downvote option will allow users to a tweet to be downvoted. Twitter said that it is an internal tool that is designed to help the company to know what people think about the conversation.

In an earlier test, the new functionality was limited to the selected number of Twitter for iOS, however, as per the latest announcement, more users now have a new ability, while Android and iOS users will soon be accessible to reply downvoting.

Moreover, the micro-blogging social network is also working on the development of the new “Twitter Articles” feature that will allow users to write long-form texts without characters limit.
