The popular micro-blogging social media platform is currently testing a new edge-to-edge timeline design for images, videos, and GIFs for iOS devices as of now.
Today, the Twitter Support team has officially confirmed that they are now testing edge-to-edge tweets for expanding the width of the timeline to have more room to shine. The company has also published a 23-second short video explaining the new update.
Simply, Twitter will now allow users to view photos, GIFs, and videos in full width by completely removing margins from all sides and give you a full-screen experience to view photos, videos, GIFs. The new change seems a little identical look to the Instagram home feed.
For this new update, Twitter told The Verge that this change is mainly aimed to make better support conversations that are both text and videos.
However, as of now, the test is only limited to selected iOS users with a view to getting feedback, and there is no word about the exact date of when the change will be officially available for all Twitter users.
