Twitter Removes Support to Open AMP Version of Articles on Android and iOS

Today, the leading micro-blogging platform Twitter completely removes the support to open articles with AMP version, now normally opens webpages on both Android and iOS.

In May 2020, Google announced that websites will not require to utilize AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) even with a view to rank in the search’s Top Stories, and considering the major point, Twitter now drops the support to open AMP Version articles through its platform.

For the discontinuation, Twitter quietly updates its webpage named “Publish faster articles with AMP” on its developer website with mentioning,

We’re in the process of discontinuing support for this feature and it will be fully retired in Q4 of 2021.

As the company mentioned to completely retire the feature in the fourth quarter of this year, it already looks the discontinuation globally implemented starting today.

Meaning, the article links shared on Twitter via Twitter Card now just opens the full webpage with the normal responsive adjustments on Twitter for Android and iOS.
