Today, it has been discovered that the messaging platform WhatsApp is currently working on the ability for selecting recipients and post media as a status update.
As noted by reliable WhatsApp features publication WABetaInfo, the company is now testing the functionality to allow you to select recipients to whom you’re sending the media content, including photos, videos, and GIFs.
Alongside, the messaging platform also tests the implementation of the possibility to add shared media content in the Status update such as images, videos, and Graphics Interchange Formats (GIFs).
The new feature has already been started developing earlier this month but the new 22.214.171.124 update for Android provides more details for a better understanding of how the redesign is planned by the social network to inform you about to which receiver you’re sharing the media content and selecting recipients from just underneath the text area of WhatsApp chat, according to the report.
For clear evidence, the publication also shared the screenshot of the new feature that is taken from WhatsApp for Android, however, it confirms that the future update will make available this revamped design to WhatsApp for iOS as well.
But as several new WhatsApp features, including new animated heart emojis, a new interface for voice calls, visual indicators, quick replies, these new ‘Selecting Recipients’ and ‘Uploading Media as Status’ features are also under development and there is no information about the release date.
