Today, Doodle for Google is celebrating Labor Day 2022, especially in the United States and Canada, honoring the working people’s hard work.
On this day in 1892, the holiday originated at “the Central Labor Union organized a parade in New York City’s Union Square — where thousands of workers took unpaid time off and gathered for the first unofficial celebration of Labor Day.”
Citizens of the United States and Canada celebrate Labor Day 2022 by recognizing workers’ achievements and their immense contributions to society. The country’s people commemorate the national holiday with parties, picnics, and vacations.
In 1984, considering the Union Square parade as well as similar events across the country, “the U.S. government officially declared the first Monday in September as a federal holiday.”
The search engine giant is celebrating the memorable day by displaying the new special “Labor Day” Doodle artwork on the homepage of Google in the United States.
