On Monday, August 2, Google announced its latest flagship Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices with a brand new custom design and developed a “Tensor” chip.
The new concept of custom-designed and developed “Tensor” is the first SoC of Google and exclusively for Pixel devices that will be available later this year. With announcing the Pixel 6 Pro model, Google removing “XL” naming from its higher-end Pixel devices.
Google officially revealed the new Pixel devices with a tweet from ‘Made By Google’ account. It said that Google announced a few details about the brand new flagship Pixel devices in a 13 tweet thread.
Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said that the company has been working on the custom-designed and developed SoC for the past four years to more focus on enhancing machine learning performance.
The new Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro with the custom-made “Tensor” chip will definitely be coming with improvements than the existing Pixel devices, including improvements in photography and videography capabilities, enhancements in speech recognization with real-time voice typing and translation.
Google said the new Titan M2 chip in Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will provide the most layers of hardware security in any phone. The Pixel 6 feature 6.4-inch FHD+ 90Hz refresh rate display, while the 6 Pro have a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz refresh rate display (flat).
In terms of design, this is an entirely new design than typical Pixel devices with the distinctive camera bar on the back, where there are a primary wide-angle camera sensor and ultra-wide-angle sensor as well, all the sides have an aluminum finish, in-display fingerprint scanner, a typical centered-Google branding, and will be available in three colors.
All other details about the new Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro such as exact specifications, camera sensors, battery life and capacity, and more will be announced at the end of this year.
