On Thursday, Google started accepting pre-orders of its non-flagship Google Pixel 6a from consumers in India, which was originally announced a few months ago.
Google Pixel 6a was unveiled at Google I/O 2022 on May 11, 2022, and now, almost after two months, the company is started taking pre-bookings from customers.
In fact, Google officially launches its smartphone in the Indian subcontinent after two years and the Rs. 43,999 for the base model is considered overpriced in the region.
Google Pixel 6a – features and specifications
The new Pixel device features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It houses a triple rear camera setup, including 12.2MP wide-angle lens and 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens as well as 8MP front-facing camera.
The Pixel 6a is powered by the first-generation Google Tensor chip, meaning “The same brain as Pixel 6 Pro,” which provides up to 5x better performance as compared to Pixel 5a.
Out of the box, it is running on Android 12 that includes notable new features, including a unique Material You design and useful camera functionaliies.
With all of these considerable capabilities, the smartphone is packed with 4410mAh battery capacity and claimes to provide all-day battery life.
Pricing and availability
Indian customers can order the new Google Pixel 6a in Sage, Chalk, or Charcoal colors at Rs. 43,999 for the base 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model from Flipkart. The shipping is set to begin from Thursday, July 28.
