Lossless And Spatial Audio Now Available On Android

Today, Apple expanded the support for Lossless and Spatial Audio in Apple Music on Android and making an equivalence between Android and iOS for the feature.

Apple released the new Spatial Audio and Lossless music feature in Apple Music from the beginning of June in WWDC 2021, and also other improvements as well. And now these new features are available on Android in the Apple Music app.

Lossless and Spatial Audio in Apple Music arrived on Apple devices in June and since last month, it had been accessible by users in beta version on Android.

To enable Lossless Audio, go to the settings of the Apple Music app on Android > Audio Quality > toggle on next to Lossless Audio. You can also select different levels of the music based on your requirement.

Here are a few levels of Lossless music:

  • High Efficiency : AAC with low data usage
  • High Quality : AAC 256 kbps
  • Lossless : ALAC up to 24-bit/48 kHz
  • High-Resolution Lossless : ALAC up to 24-bit/192 kHz

Right now, Apple hasn’t provided any details about which Android devices are accessible to utilize the new features of Apple Music. But it should be available on most Android devices.
