WhatsApp History Can Now Transfer from iPhone to Pixel and Other Android 12 Devices

Google now allows users to transfer WhatsApp history and all files from iPhone to Samsung Galaxy, Pixel, and other Android devices running on Android 12.

In the official blog post, Paul Dunlop, Google’s product manager notes that some types of data were impossible to precisely bring when switching from iPhone to Android.

Google said they worked closely with the WhatsApp team to create a new set of functionalities and to make it easier to switch from iPhone to Android by taking all media and conversations on a Facebook-owned instant messaging platform with you.

All you need is a USB-C to Lightning cable to get started. Simply connect your phones, and when prompted while setting up your new Android device, scan a QR code on your iPhone to launch WhatsApp and move all your conversations, media and more over to your new device.

If you are facing any problem, you can also transfer WhatsApp history by going to WhatsApp for iOS > Settings > Chats > Move Chats to Android. Using this helpful functionality, users can transfer all text conversations, voice messages, photos, videos from Apple’s iPhone to the new Android device seamlessly.

Considering the security, both companies ensure users’ data remains protected during the transfer process, so no one can access their WhatsApp information and files. Google and WhatsApp both together will automatically make sure that while the transfer is in progress, you don’t receive new messages on the old device.

This new functionality to transfer WhatsApp history was first only available on Samsung Galaxy phones running Android 10 and above. And now, WhatsApp history transfers are now available on all Pixel devices and will be available on new Android smartphones launched with Android 12.

The company said that the newest Android operating system also allows users to better transfer information from iOS, including automatically installing the identical iOS app from Google Play Store.
