How to Hide Photos on iPhone?

Your iPhone probably has photos and videos that you don’t use right now but you don’t want to delete them and you don’t want them to be shown in the Photo Library.

You can easily hide any of those photos and videos on the iPhone without installing third-party apps. Apple has provided the functionality that allows users to hide photos on the iPhone. You can use that option to assurance photos won’t be visible to other people looking at the Photo Library.

Previously, Apple let users hide photos from the Photo Library of the iPhone for some time. But hidden photos were stored in a “Hidden Album” which was still visible in the Albums section of the Photos app. But the issue was completely fixed with the launch of iOS 14 last year.

The latest official stable version of iOS 14 that announced June 2020, lets users completely hide photos from the Photos app on iPhone without using even any single third-party app.

Here are some important things that you have to know before getting starting this process:

  • The iPhone must be running on at least iOS 14.
  • The Hidden album on iOS is enabled by default but you can turn it off by following below mentioned steps.
  • This process is also working to hide videos on iPhone as well.
How to Hide Photos on iPhone?
  1. Open the Photos app on the iPhone.
  2. Select the Photo and video that you want to hide, you can also select multiple photos and videos by a tap on the select icon at the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap on the Share icon and then select the Hide option from the menu.
  4. Confirm that you want to hide the photo(s) and video(s) that you chose.
  5. Now, go to the Setting of the iPhone and tap on the Photos, scroll down and turn off the toggle next to the Hidden Album option.

You can follow back the last to turn back on the Hidden Album option again to see the Hidden Album folder in the Photos app on iPhone. It should make sure that photos and videos that you hide probably show on a third-party app. You also follow this step to hide photos and videos on the iPad as well but make sure that your iPad must be at least running on iPadOS 14.
