Finland-based multinational and consumer electronics company Nokia announced “Let’s Plant Together,” a new tree plantation project for every device they sold.
The company’s new “Let’s Plant Together” initiative includes the commitment for tree plantation for every Nokia’s X and G-series smartphone sold, which smartphones come with long-term software support and warranty.
HMD Global recently launched its latest sustainability-focused devices, including the Nokia X10, which comes in 100% recycled packaging and it is one of the multiple devices that has the support of up to 3 years of official Android OS updates and security patches.
And now, the brand adding a new major point in a direction to making environment-friendly products. The new “Let’s Plant Together” project launching in partnership with the Ecology Group.
The agreement was signed between both firms that Ecology Group will be planting a number of trees either in Mozambique or Madagascan in condition to each new Nokia device sold that includes the G and X series smartphones as well as the new Nokia T20 tablet.
Here’s the list of how many trees will be planted by selling each device:
- 10 trees will be planted for every retail sale of Nokia G50
- 20 trees will be planted for rvery retail sale of Nokia X10, X20 and T20 tablet
- 50 trees will be planted for every retail safe of Nokia XR20
Customers can participate in the project by registering their eligible phone’s IMEI number (or PSN number of T20 tablet) to get their trees planted. Nokia suggests that the project will remain live until new 35,000 trees have been planted successfully.
