Samsung Unfold Stunning New Galaxy Z Fold 3

On Wednesday, August 11, Samsung unfolded its new foldable devices are named Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 at the virtual Galaxy Unpacked event.

In the virtual Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, Alongside the new foldable flagship smartphones, Samsung also unveiled its new Galaxy Watch 4 Series and Galaxy Buds 2 wireless earbuds.

But today, we’re going to talking about the latest, most liked, and for which most the people are excited about and it is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. So, here are the all major details about the next-generation flagship folding smartphone from Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 – All Major Details


The first notable and interesting feature of the Z Fold 3 is its huge 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex inner display with up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and pixel resolution of 374 PPI (Pixel Per Inch), where its predecessor Z Fold 2 had a punch-hole camera design at the front.

A major upgrade is that it has a 6.2-inch HD+Dynaminc AMOLED Infinity-O display with up to also 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 387 PPI, where the Z Fold 2 had a 120Hz refresh rate only on the inner display.

It has featured a new tougher Gorilla Glass Victus display and its new protective display film made from a stretchable PET (polyethylene terephthalate) material, and according to Samsung, the inner display is now 80% more durable than its predecessor.


In terms of cameras, this year, Samsung took a step forward to unveiled something new and unique, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 has 4-megapixel under-display camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 10-megapixel primary front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture.

For the rear-facing camera, it has a triple-rear camera setup on the back that includes a 12-megapixel ultrawide angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, and 12-megapixel telephoto zoom lens with f/2.4 aperture.

All the cameras have the protection Corning Gorilla Glass with DX, dual OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), 0.5X to 2X optical zoom, and HDR10+ video recording capability up to 4K UHD at 60fps.


The latest Z Fold from Samsung has now a more durable design than ever with stronger aluminum frames and for the first time, the Fold smartphone has IPX8 dust and water-resistant rating.

Internal Specifications

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 octa-core processor with the capability of the latest (Sub6 and mmWave) 5G network technology and runs on Android 10 out of the box. It also includes stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sound technology.

The new Z Fold is packed with a 4400mAh battery capacity that supports 25W fast charging, 10W wireless fast charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. It has come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage configuration but it hasn’t any SD card slot, so you can’t be able to expand the storage of the device.

It is available in three colors: Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Green and weighs 271 grams.

S Pen Support

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 becomes the first smartphone of Samsung to receive the support of S Pen that comes in two options: S Pen Pro and S Pen Fold Edition. Noted that these options are exclusively available for Galaxy Z Fold 3.

According to Samsung, both styluses S Pens include a specially engineered retractable tip with force limit technology with a view to protecting the inner display of the device from scratches and damage as well.

However, you have to separately purchase the new S Pen Fold Edition or S Pen Pro from Samsung in order to use it with Galaxy Z Fold 3, which are available at $49.99 and $99.99 price points, respectively.

Pricing and Availability

The pricing of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 starts at $1799 for the base model. The pre-orders are already started and the availability will be starting from August 27 in selected markets, including Korea, Europe, and the United States.
