Today, Apple released iOS 15.6.1 and iPad iPadOS 15.6.1 with a small new change as well as some minor bug fixes and performance improvements.
The new iOS 15.6.1 and iPadOS 15.6.1 come in a small update size with a new build number 19G82. This is an over-the-air update and is available to download for all eligible iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch (7th-generation) users across the world.
In the official release notes, Apple mentioned the following major issues:
An application may be able to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.
Processing maliciously crafted web content may lead to arbitrary code execution. Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited.
However, these major and serious security vulnerabilities are completely addressed in the new updates. iOS 15 and IPadOS 15 were introduced alongside other major Apple platforms in June last year.
The official stable version of iOS 16 will be accessible with the upcoming iPhone 14 lineup in September, while iPadOS 16 is expected to release with the new iPad Pro models introduced at the Apple Event in October.
