Today, Apple released iOS 16.1.1 with an aim to address a minor issue instead of any major updates and changes, comes two weeks after the stable iOS 16.1 update.
The official release notes explains that the new update comes with a new build number 20B101 and a major security issue in “libxml2” software.
It is highly recommended to download the new update as soon as possible because an issue can “cause an unexpected app termination or arbitrary code execution,” the Apple Support page mentions.
You can download this new over-the-air bug fix update on all eligible iPhone models by heading over to iPhone Settings > General > Software update.
Along with iOS 16.1.1, Apple also released iPadOS 16.1.1 and macOS 13.0.1 compatible iPad and Mac models to fix the same issue.
