Apple released iOS 16.1 Beta 2 – here’s what’s new?

Today, Apple released iOS 16.1 Beta 2 to developers with an aim for testing purposes a few days after releasing the official stable version of iOS 16 for everyone.

The new iOS 16.1 Beta 2 comes with a new build number 20B5050f. This is an over-the-air update and is available to download for eligible iPhone and iPad users across the world who installed the developer beta profile on their iPhones and iPads from Apple Developer Center.

  • Visual Battery Indicator – the battery percentage level now shows a visual indicator.
  • Lock Screen Charging Indicator – the battery level of the iPhone is now displayed above the time in the Lock Screen.
  • A strange bug that was asked to approve every copy-and-paste attempt is now resolved.

However, it is recommended to download on the secondary device as there are some known issues as well which are expected to fix in future updates.

Along with this, Apple also released the second developer beta update for watchOS 9.1 and tvOS 16.1 as well as iPadOS 16 Beta 9 and macOS Ventura Beta 8.
