Apple released iOS 16 Beta 7 – here’s what’s new?

Today, Apple released iOS 16 Beta 7 and iPadOS 16 Beta 7 to developers with the aim of testing purposes almost a week after releasing the sixth beta update.

The new iOS 16 Beta 7 and iPadOS 16 Beta 7 updates come with a new build number 20A5356a. This is an over-the-air update and is available to download for eligible iPhone and iPad users across the world who installed the developer beta profile on their iPhones and iPads from Apple Developer Center.

  • It now redirects to a new page when you tap on the build number of iOS in the Settings > General > About. It was previously displayed in-line.
  • Multiple wording changes

Currently, it is recommended to download on your secondary device as earlier beta software updates may have some bugs. During the testing of Apple’s all newest software platforms, Apple will release all-new features for iOS 16 and iPadOS 16.

Each beta is coming with several newly-added features, resolved issues as well as known issues and their workarounds, including for the App Store, Accessibility, AirPlay, App Tracking Transparency, iCloud, Mail, Maps, Home, Messages, Weather and so much more.

Along with iOS 16 Beta 7 and iPadOS 16 Beta 7, Apple also released the seventh developer beta update for watchOS 9, and tvOS 16. You can get more details on the official release notes.

Moreover, it could be the last iOS 16 Beta update before the release candidate is expected to come up next week, which is followed by the official stable version around the second week of September.
